Hello!
Hi, my name is Sarah, and I absolutely adore all animals! (with the exception of ants....)
I live in Tasmania (that little island just down below the rest of Australia!) and have finally got my foot in the door of doing what I love! Working with animals! I completed my Certificate II in Animal studies and will be going my Certificate III in Animal Studies this year, which I am incredibly excited for!
I have had many different animals as pets over the years including horses, guinea pigs, rats, mice, dogs & puppies, cats & kittens, birds, fish and have found myself keeping insects as pets, I currently have a few Spiny Leaf insects (with a heap of eggs!), two pray mantids and 2 Australian Leaf insects :) I absolutely adore all of them, and it has made me lose my fear of other insects (again, excluding ants, I will always dislike ants!) and I've begun learning a lot more about insects and just how interesting they actually are!
I only currently have a few animals because of work, tafe & living in a unit, but I have two birds (a cockatiel & a scaly breasted lorikeet), a few spiny leaf insects (plus some eggs), a Giant Rainforest Mantid, a Monster Mantis and a 2 Phyllium monteithi (Australian Leaf insects).
I made this site because I really want to share my love and my growing knowledge for animals!
When I first got my scaly breasted lorikeet and my spiny leaf insects, I wasn't able to find a lot of information on either (although I do seem to get quite information hungry when I get new pets, and want to know EVERYTHING I can possibly find out), so that's something I really hope to help others out with by having this site, as well as just sharing my experiences online!
